Sample packs of Go With The Gobbies i.e. The Gobbies story books, The Reading Trackograph System & Tilly The Gobbies toy were sent out to several schools and various optometric practices, also a few individual parents and one motor neuron sufferer, who reported that the yellow Trackograph was very helpful and a great relief!

Miss Z aged 9

Mrs Jackie Daly, a classroom assistant teacher trained in the Irlen method of dyslexia screening and perceptual help contacted me and asked me for my help regarding Miss Z.
Mrs Daly had tried unsuccessfully using the Irlen method to help Miss Z and was at a loss how to proceed.
Miss Z is an intelligent and co-operative young lady who was clearly not realizing her potential due to difficulty reading, reading being the key to all subjects as you cannot be good at math’s if you cannot read the problem!
At the appointment Miss Z commented that she had difficulty seeing the white board if she was sitting at the back of the class. Reading for even short periods was difficult.
It transpired that Miss Z is slightly short sighted and had difficulty converging. Spectacles for use in class were prescribed and convergence exercises recommended.
The Go With The Gobbies system was used to screen for help with the reading difficulties. No spectacles were used for this screening. The purple matt Trackograpgh was selected and the results were quite dramatic.

Professor Bruce Evans, a leading authority in optometry in the UK says that the stories were a ‘big hit’ for his children aged seven and nine years ( with ‘mild dyslexia’ ) and he would recommend The Gobbies Package.

At Salmestone Primary School for years 3 & 5 the teacher reported all the children enjoyed the stories. They also found the Trackograph system helpful and convenient. Many pupils asked to take the books and Trackograph home i.e. to swap over from their usual story books and the Irlen lens reading system. Their teacher commented that she was happy to recommend The Gobbies package.

Analysis of the results

The results are very pleasing with the children themselves rating success highly, and of course, success breeds success.
